This animation was made for my Introduction to Animation class; That class sucked butt cause we never really practiced animation, just “these are the principles of animation, now do me some 3 minute clay animation in under a week!” like dude wait me a minute, I don't even know how to make the ball bounce properly. 
Also the whole thing in that class is that we would do every form of traditional animation (stop-motion, pencil, cell, cutout, we even did one of those Spinny things) so if you haven't guessed, this is a cutout animation!
I enjoyed the process as much as I hate actually animating it. I first did the storyboards; the animation had to be 30 seconds long (thanks Prof Melissa for shortening the time required and extending the deadline, you are the best 
), so I just went with the idea to use an animation meme that I wanted to do (Close Up!). It's really funny cause I did the first half of the storyboard as just my persona being cutesy and fun, realized that I had to fill another 15 seconds, and turned dark really quick. I remember my father asking me if the animation had any meaning and just told him that it really doesn't, I just rolled with it.
After the sb, i did an animatic/rough animation so I could know how many photos would I actually need, and I have a chunky folder full of all the cut outs; it's funny cause I thought that it would be easy cause I just can reuse the puppets over and over, but because of my very complex composition and quick cuts, I actually couldn't.
Anyway, it was fun either way, and I added a vhs effect cause I thought it would look cool and on theme. hope y'all enjoy my first finished animation!
